Priory Angling Club Rules

  1. Weston and Warrens lakes will open to all bona fide members from the first day of June until the last day of March each season. Clay End Lake will be open from the first day of March till the last day of December.
  2. Ensure that all fish retained in keep-nets are not distressed and released at the earliest opportunity. Keep-nets must comply with the minimum size of 2.4 meters as determined by The Environment Agency. During particularly hot weather or low water conditions, a keep-net ban may be introduced. Notices will be displayed to this effect. Carp Over 2lb mark must not be kept in the keep net under any circumstances. except in Priory angling Club matches
  3. Members must hold a current rod licence. (Environment Agency).
  4. Members are not allowed to fish with more than 2 rods, positioned no more than 2 metres apart. Rods must not be left unattended with baits in the water.
  5. MEMBERS MUST CARRY THEIR CURRENT CLUB CARD AT ALL TIMES, failure to produce it when asked, by ANY club member, will result in that member being unable to fish on that occasion. All members are encouraged to check each other’s membership cards when fishing. Please do so if asked, as this helps to prevent poaching.
  6. All litter MUST be collected and removed from the fishery (even if it’s not yours) ALL unused bait is to be TAKEN HOME by members and not deposited of in the lakes or surrounding area.

  8. Dogs, radios, boats, alcohol, and the lighting of fires are prohibited. Mopeds and cycles must not be ridden at the lakes
  9. Cars, motorbikes, etc.… must be parked in the official car parks with due regard to other users.
  10. Pre-baiting is forbidden. Cereal ground-bait may be used from September in, swim feeders only with a maximum size of 15g only until the end of the season. The only exception to this rule is to allow the use of cereal ground-bait (IN MODERATION) in matches.
  11. 4″ minimum hook length for feeder or ledger and 12" maximum. Free running leads and feeders only and no self-hooking devices ( magic stick etc.)
  12. NO NIGHT FISHING is allowed except during the annual “Night Owls” match.
  13. Members young children must fish in an adjacent swim and be supervised at all times. If the lake is crowded children must fish the same swim as the parent. Older children fishing away from the parent must possess a landing net and a unhooking mat for large carp.
  14. No tins bottles or disposable bait containers allowed at all lakes.
  15. Only BARBLESS or MICRO-BARBED hooks to be used when fishing club waters.
  16. The use of the METHOD FEEDERS IS BANNED ON ALL OF OUR WATERS
  17. The use of BRAIDED mainline (reel line) is BANNED on Priory Angling Club waters.
  18. All baits are to be used in MODERATION considering the small size of the club waters i.e maggots, hemp, bread, boilies, pellets, particle mix etc
  19. No nuts to be used of any variety
  20. Bait and tackle that is visible on an angler’s peg will be deemed as in use.
  21. Due to possible fish damage, a landing net mused be used for ALL FISH including Crucians. All persons fishing must possess a suitable size landing net and a suitable size unhooking mat with a Minimum Thickness of 25mm
  22. No fish to be removed from PAC waters
  23. THE MEMBERSHIP CARD REMAINS THE PROPERTY OF THE CLUB AT ALL TIMES.
  24. ANY BREACH OF THESE REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM PRIORY ANGLING CLUB OR MAY RESULT IN RECEIVING A STRIKE, OF ONE OF THREE IN THE BACK OF THE MEMBERSHIP CARD. Immediate spouses (Husbands/wives/partners and children under the age of 16 only are permitted to fish with club members.) In all other circumstances permission to fish will be at prior discretion of the committee.
